portfolio of Scott Sandlan

I am currently Senior Web Designer in the Digital Media Department of Scottish and Universal Newspapers.

Graduating from Strathclyde university in 2002 with a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science I have 5 years professional experience including building sites with CSS, PHP, Coldfusion and Flash.

Over the years for S&UN Digital I have worked on over 30 websites ranging from small client websites to large scale newspaper websites.

Myself and my team of designers are also responsible for all advertising on our network of sites.

In 2007 I was involved in the Digital Media strategy and awareness roadshow presented to editorial and advertising staff around Scotland in preparation for the expansion of the department in 2008.

I also recieved on behalf of S&UN the award for best cross-platform solution from the Scottish Newspaper Publishers Association (SNPA) at their Local Advertising Awards.

In previous employment I have worked in higher education as Technical Assistant, designing and developing the Bell College website and intranet, including Coldfusion, Sharepoint, PHP development.

As a designer in higher education I have had extensive knowledge of accessabilty issues and DDA compliant websites.
