Career


A graduate from Strathclyde University with a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science, with well rounded experience in design and development for New Media with additional experience in print design, software development and IT.

This was gained from 5 years experience working for one of the UK’s largest newspaper publishers and for a Higher Learning institution where I have honed and adapted my creative and technical skills to the benefit of my employers and clients alike.

Over the years I have helped launch numerous large newspaper websites; a higher learning institution website, virtual learning environments, document repositories, CMSs and many client websites including consultancy work for South Lanarkshire council.

My responsibilities ranged from Website drafting and proposing, project management, Flash development, PHP and Coldfusion development, advertising design for online and print campaigns, as well as working towards broadening the awareness of New Media among traditional media and academic circles.

Senior Web Designer, leading a team small team of web designers within the expanded Digital Media Department.

Responsible for rolling out all of Trinity Mirror's digital commercial projects for Scotland including 16 large-scale newspaper websites.

Project lead for all client website and online advertising campaigns

Role of Web Designer in a small dept of 3 responsible for maintaining 8 regional news websites and a national news & entertainment site www.icscotland.co.uk.
